Founded in 2001, the business began with a simple idea and a lot of determination. After retiring from a career as a mechanic with the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Willard Bare teamed up with his son, Jerry, who was farming full time. Together, they purchased sleeper-cab road tractors, removed the sleepers, and converted them into dump trucks themselves.

Starting with small residential projects, the company quickly earned a reputation for dependable service and quality work. That reputation led to opportunities with local municipalities and the State of North Carolina, eventually growing into a five-truck operation serving customers five days a week.

Building the business wasn't just about hauling dirt—it was about solving problems, working hard, and continually learning. From navigating the challenging mountain terrain of Ashe County to maintaining every truck in an old garage that wasn't even tall enough to fit them inside, every challenge was met with determination. Evenings were often spent around the kitchen table preparing invoices, stamping envelopes, and planning for the next day's work.

More than two decades later, the values that built the company remain the same: honesty, hard work, reliability, and a commitment to treating every customer right. Those principles continue to guide the business today and remain the foundation of every job, large or small.
